Site Description: The location is a sheltered area formed by the junction of Reagh Island with Mahee Island. The sediment is mainly mud, with areas of sandy mud. Ulva (originally recorded as Enteromorpha) and Zostera grow on the surface of the flats, and there are large numbers of cockles. The upper shore is an Ascophyllum dominated silty boulder shore. The area is a National Trust wildlife refuge. 10 Eckman grabs were taken within the sampling area.
