Site Description: The transect site is in a gully which in turn passes through a small cliff, formed of sharp rock ridges descending steeply to the sea. The site is very exposed with a narrow intertidal region of steep and vertical rock. It is mainly barnacle dominated. The transect was taken across an area of steep rock at the foot of the gully. Behind the transect site the supralittoral was dominated (on a steep rocky cliff) by Verrucaria for 5-6m, and then by mixed lichens.
