Site Description: The site is situated on a steep/vertical side of the east headland of Port na Tober Bay, towards the less exposed end. The tip of the headland is exposed, but the transect site is subject to severe wave wash, rather than severe wave action. Around the headland, the intertidal changes to basalt platforms, which tend to be exposed on vertical surfaces with many corallines and Alaria, but sheltered on the flat tops especially in splash with some fucoids present. The transect was taken on a vertical surface with the occasional ledge and shallow pools.
