The site comprises two vein occurrences [H640 884] and [H642 884], that are of regional metallogenic interest (Earls et al., 1996). The eastern and western outcrops are located respectively 70m upstream of the bridge on the north bank, and 25m downstream of the bridge on the south bank. The western vein is a 0.5m wide fault and vein zone that includes a 5cm-wide galena-bearing vein. This outcrop would be sensitive to specimen collection. The eastern outcrop comprises pyritic vein quartz and brecciated psammitic wallrock that is exposed over a length of c.10m in the river bed. Material is abundant and collecting is not an issue. Assay results indicate elevated (though sub-economic) concentrations of gold in both veins. Earls et al. (1996) report the occurrence of an iron arsenide (possibly gersdorffite) containing 1.2% Pb and 2.6% Au in Tievenameena vein material.
