Description:

Miner's Hole is a gully about 150 m from the west bank of the Silent Valley Reservoir on the lower course of the Miner's Hole River. It has yielded specular iron ore, a lustrous black variety of hematite (iron oxide), in the past, occurring as a vein lining in the G3 granite of the area.
