Summary of site:

This quarry in the Newry Granodiorite has yielded the mineral molybdenite (molybdenum sulphide, the chief ore of molybdenum) associated with sphene (calcium titanium silicate) and epidote (calcium, aluminium, iron aluminosilicate). It has not been exploited industrially.

Molybdenum is a vital ingredient of tool and stainless steels and has a range of electrical uses.
