Summary of site:

A square kilometre of largely worked-out sands and gravels on the south-east foot slopes of Altahullion Hill still retains evidence of a delta with its surface 142m above present sea level. Flow structures in the sands indicate a water source to the south. Since its deposition it has been deeply dissected by a meltwater channel to form Altmover Glen, carving the delta into two parts.
