Summary of site:
There are three sites of minor significance in the vicinity of Garrison. The bedrock in each case is the Dartry Limestone Formation and one of its subdivisions, the Knockmore Limestone Member, is present at 2 of the 3.
Naturally weathered limestone is the interest at Lough Formal, a natural limestone arch, partly in the Republic of Ireland, is the feature on the County River and the Roogagh River ground bridge is a shallow cave about 45 m long negotiated by the river.
Each of the sites is described individually under its own name and site number; Lough Formal (site 430), County River natural bridge (site 429) and Roogagh River ground bridge (site 428).
