Description: Fine filamentous species, unbranched.

Habitat: Littoral and sublittoral. Also recorded from some inland sites.

Distribution: Widespread in the British Isles. Greenland. Atlantic coast of Europe including Netherlands.

Similar Species: Easily confused with other species microscopic species of Ulothrix.
