Description: Thallus cylindrical, erect to 15 cms long, may be corticate or ecortate.

Habitat: Common. Epiphytic in the littoral rock pools and upper sublittoiral.

Distribution: Around the British Isles including the Orkneys.

Similar Species: All other non spiny species of Ceramium.
