Ceramium secundatum Lyngbye


Description: Thallus cylindrical erect to 50 cms long. Completely corticate but young branches may appear banded.

Habitat: Epiphytic and on artifical materials. Usually sublittoral to 11 m.

Distribution: Apparently widespread in the British Isles, probably under-recorded.

Similar Species: Other Ceramium species which are not spiny and are corticate.
