Ceramium nodulosum (Lightfoot) Ducluzeau


Description: Thallus in erect tufts to 30 cms long, usually fully corticate.

Habitat: Epiphytic or epilithic in rock pools of the mid to low-littoral and the sublittoral.

Distribution: Generally distributed all around the British Isles. Europe: Netherlands. May be recorded elsewere under the name Ceramium rubrum.

Similar Species: Other corticate species without spines Ceramium: C.echinotum; C.gadiatum; C.secundatum and C. pallidum.
