Description: Encrusting thallus flat and thin up to 5 cms in diameter, thin margin without orbital rings. Conceptacles clearly raised.
Habitat: Common. Epilithic on rocks, stones, glass, shells etc also epiphytic on algae especially Furcellaria, Gracilaria, Chondrus and Palmaria.
Distribution: Mainly recorded on the southern shores of the British Isles, including Jersey in the Channel Isles. Has been found in the north of Ireland. Europe: France and Italy.
