Description: Thallus encrusting, thin and flat growing to 6 cms in diameter, without orbital rings.
Habitat: Quite common. Epilithic on rock, stone, glass, shells etc in the lower littoral and to 8 m depth.
Distribution: British Isles including the Shetland Isles. Europe: France.
