Description: Very small uniseriate filaments of profusely branched prostrate endophytic axes and erect tufted axes to 5 mm.
Habitat: Rare. Epiphyte on Nemalion helminthoides, midlittoral.
Distribution: British Isles: the Shetlands and the Isle of Man. Europe: Mediterranean, Baltic Sea and Denmark. Further afield: Canary Islands and Bermuda.
Similar Species: All species of Acrochaetium and Colaconema are similar, microscopic examination is required for identification.
