Acrochaetium endozoicum (Darbishire) Batters, 1902


Description: Plant of uniseriate filaments, branched, spreading and growing in Bryozoa. The filaments rising to less than a few cells above the surface.

Habitat: Endozoic in Bryozoa in the sublittoral to 15 m.

Distribution: Widely distributed in the British Isles. Europe: French Channel and southern Norway. Further afield: South Africa.

Similar Species: All species of Acrochaetium are very similar, microscopic examination is usually required for identification.
