Description: Very small uniserate filaments, branched and erect to 2 mm. Prostrate filaments develop and penetrate into the host.
Habitat: Epiphytic in the sublittoral to 5 m.
Distribution: England: Devon, Sussex also recorded from the west of Ireland. Probably under recorded and more widely distributed.
Similar Species: All species of Acrochaetium are similar, microscopic examination is required for identification.
