Description: Small uniseriate filaments, branching and erect to 10 mm.
Habitat: Epiphytic on algae and epizoic on Patella in the sublittoral to 8 m.
Distribution: Widely distributed on the south coasts of England: Devon and Dorset and the Channel Islands also recorded from Northern Ireland and Scotland. Europe: Spain and France.
Similar Species: All species of Colaconema and Acrochaetium (Audouinella) are similar, microscopic examination is usually required for identification.
