Description: Thallus irregularly branched, terete, to over 45 cms long with a felt-like surface. Utricles with rounded apices.
Habitat: Epilithic and generally sublittoral.
Distribution: British Isles: south-wast shores of England, west and south of Ireland, the Isles of Scilly and Channel Islands. Europe: Mediterranean, Portugal, Spain and Norway.
Similar Species: Othere species of Codium save C. adhaerens and C.bursa.
