Description: Minute filaments irregularly branched growing endophytically in other algae.

Habitat: Rare. Growing endophytically in the outer tissues of Eudesme virescens.

Distribution: Widely distributed on the shores of the British Isles including the Shetlands and the Channel Islands. Europe: France, Baltic Sea and Norway. Greenland. Atlantic coast of North America: Canada.

Similar Species: Other species of Streblonema and other minute algae.
