Description: Thallus monosiphonous, erect to 20 cms. Branches in an alternately or pseudodichotomous manner.
Habitat: Rather rare. Epilithic or epiphytic in deep pools of the low littoral and sublittoral to 16 m.
Distribution: Widely distributed of the south-west coasts of the British Isles. Europe: the Mediterranean, Portugal, Spain, France and south Norway. Further afield: Canary Islands.
