Description: Thallus compressed, branching irregularly in one plane, spreading, erect or decumbent to 10 cms long.
Habitat: Rare. Epilithic and epiphytic in the lower littoral and sub-littoral to 10 m.
Distribution: British Isles: southern shores of Ireland and England including the Scilly Isles and the Channel Islands. Europe: the Mediterranean, Portugal, Spain, France and Norway. Further afield: Morocco.
Similar Species: Callophyllis cristata.
