Description: Thallus in tufts, monosiphonous and ecorticate to 6 cms long, dichotomously branched, very delicate.

Habitat: Epiphytic in intertidal pools.

Distribution: British Isles: unknown in the twentieth century until it was found in North Wales, the few old records from the south-west of England and the Channel Islands are either rather old or considered doubtful. Europe: Mediterranean, Atlantic coasts of Spain and France. Further afield: Canary Islands and west Africa.
