Lithophyllum duckeri Woelkerling


Description: Forms balls with a knobbly surface unlike Lithophyllum dentatum or Lithophyllum fasculatum.

Habitat: Rare. Forming a ball up to 4 cms in diameter, with branches arising in all planes.

Distribution: Apart from the holotype there is only one record of this species from the British Isles: Falmouth in Cornwall. The species may be extinct.

Similar Species: Lythophyllum dentatum (Kützing) Foslie, however the latter is less knobbly.
