Description: Thallus a flattened blade and stipe up to 30 cms long.
Habitat: Sublittoral to 30 m.
Distribution: Reported from scattered sites around the British Isles: Ireland in Galway Bay and Co.Donegal, South Wales, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. Europe: Mediterranean, Portugal, Atlantic coasts of Spain and France. Further afield: Canary Islands.
Similar Species: Halarachnion ligulatum (Woodward) Kützing.
