Description: Microscopic uniseriate filaments no more than a few cells long and only occasionally branched.
Habitat: Epiphytic on Sporochnus and Carpomitra in the sublittoral to 30 m deep.
Distribution: Cornwal and Devon in England also Galway Bay in Ireland. Europe: Portugal, Atlantic coast of France, Baltic Sea and Norway. Further afield: California.
Similar Species: All species of Acrochaetium, Colaconema and Kylinia are very similar; microscopic examination required for identification.
