Description: Very small uniseriate filaments, prostrate axes give rise to erect unbranched axes of 2 to 12 cells long.
Habitat: Epizoic on hydroids etc in the sublittoral to 30 m.
Distribution: British Isles: Northern Ireland, Argyll, Devon, Pembroke. Europe: Atlantic coast of France. Further afield: Pacific coast of North America and New Zealand.
Similar Species: All species of Meiodiscus, Acrochaetium and Rhodochorton are similar and require microscopic examination for identification.
