Dasya corymbifera J Agardh


Description: Thallus erect to 10 cms long. The main polysiphonous axis has five periaxial cells and is partly corticated. Well branched and ecorticate for up to 2 cms behind the apex.

Habitat: Sublittoral zone and deep rock pools, also drift.

Distribution: British Isles: a few sites in Ireland and the south of England also recorded from the Channel Islands. Europe: Mediterranean, Atlantic coasts of Spain and France. Further afield: Canary Islands, Morocco, the Caribbean, Bermuda and Hawaii.

Similar Species: Other members of the genus Dasya.
