Description: Thallus filamentous, densely branched to 3 cms long, strongly curved, bent and stiff, usually unattached without rhizoids.
Habitat: Probally rare. Usually in quiet bays, may lie free or hooked around other plants in the low littoral and upper sublittoral.
Distribution: Few records in the British Isles. Europe: Mediterranen, Atlantic coast of France.
Similar Species: Most species of Cladophora are similar and difficult to identify, may be under-recorded.
