Ceramium botryocarpum Griffiths ex Harvey


Description: Thallus cylindrical, erect and tufted, entirely corticate and well branched to 12 cms long. Branches irregular and strongly inrolled at the apices.

Habitat: Epiphytic and epilithic in pools of the littoral.

Distribution: Probably widely distributed in the British Isles including the Channel Isles. Europe: France.

Similar Species: All fully corticate Ceramium species are similar and not readily identified.
