Aglaothamnion priceanum Maggs, Guiry et Rueness


Description: Thallus small and filamentous, erect and finely branched to 0.8 (-2) cms long. In larger thalli rhizoidal filaments grow downwards within the walls forming a cortex.

Habitat: Rare. Epiphytic and epilithic in the sublittoiral to depths of 30 m.

Distribution: Few records in the British Isles. Europe: France, Norway and the Faroes.

Similar Species: All species of Aglaothamnion and Callithamnion are similar and not easy to identify.
