Description: Small thin flat encrusting thallus, diameter to 2mm, without orbital ridges. Conceptacles domed and raised.
Habitat: Quite common. Epiplytic on other algae, Zostera, hydroids and bryozoa. Mainly littoral but also sublittoral to 7 m.
Distribution: British Isles from scattered sites including the Shetlands. Europe: Mediterranean, Norway. Further afield: Canary Islands, Madeira, India and Pacific Mexico.
