Habitat: Rare. Sublittoral
Distribution: England: Devon. Europe: Mediterranean, Atlantic coasts of Spain and France. Further afield: Canary Islands, Pacific Ocean from British Columbia to California and Peru.
Similar Species: Stylonema alsidii (Zanardini) K.M. Drew is distinguished having single cell rows.
