Dyschirius aeneus (Dejean, 1825)

Description: Small (3.5mm) shiny bronze black fossorial ground beetle. Lives on bare wet ground by water - riverbanks, peatlands, edges of sandpits etc. Widely distributed but local, much rarer in the north.
